Thank you for all your efforts at tryouts girls. Please download the corresponding schedule in the locker and start to get organized around practice times. Let's have a great season. And please read thru the handbook a bit to familiarize yourself with some expectations...both parents and players.
Tryouts for the 2014-2015 season
**Tryout dates are Monday 8/4, Tuesday 8/5, and Wednesday 8/6.
**Varsity Tryouts 8:00 - 10:00: Participants would be all the incoming seniors, some underclassmen by invitation, and any incoming freshman or new players to the school with USTA rankings and tournament experience.
**Junior Varsity and Frosh/Soph Tryout 10:00 - 12:00 Open to all returning Frosh/Soph players and incoming 9th, 10th, and 11th graders.
**I never know from year to year if we will have to make cuts or not. It all depends on the number of players that tryout. Tryouts will be a combination of drilling with coaches, drilling with other players, and challenge match play. Your win loss record is not necessarily the only determining factor in whether you make the team or not. There will be cuts after days 2 and 3 if necessary.
**The Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Frosh Soph schedules are posted in the locker.
**Please contact Coach DiLeo at email@example.com with any questions about which tryout you should attend
**You must have a cleared physical to participate at tryouts. The physical form is in the locker in the bottom left of this webpage. Take it to your physician to fill out and then bring it to the front office to the athletic secretary Mrs. King prior to tryouts. I am not sure of the summer office hours so it might be a good idea to turn it into her before the last day of school. You will not be able to tryout without a cleared physical packet turned into the office and a cleared slip brought to me.
**Please get acclimated to the summer heat conditions prior to tryouts. This includes being hydrated for multiple days before tryouts, in good athletic condition, and able to run and play tennis in the heat. We have had many incoming freshman only able to last a few minutes at tryouts because they did not prepare adequately. Healthy eating and hydration are a very key component for succeeding at tryouts.
