The time has come to sign up for AP tests for may 2017. AP Physics C: E&M is not a class offered at this school, but we will be having study sessions for the course that will help students preform at their maximum potential when it comes to test day.

Don't worry if you are not enrolled in a physics class or not, but it does help a good amount if you are enrolled in AP, Honors, or regular Physics. Math skills are necessary, but not much above algebra 2 and pre-calculus.

There are no fees for tutoring for the test, but payments for signing up for the test are required. If you are interested or have any questions, please email me at dcaronetesorohs@gmail.com or text to 949-325-4776

Tesoro's Advanced Drama presents:

The Comic Book Artist by Pat Lydersen

What? A one-hour show for the kids!

When? Tuesday, January 10 @ 4:00 pm in the Titan Theatre

Wednesday, January 11 @ 7:00 pm in the Titan Theatre

Price? $5 all seats!

We're bringing the incredibly popular comic-book genre to life with this hilarious action-packed superhero saga!  Stanley Leonardo Sappovitz wants nothing more than to become a comic book artist.  When he gets a job as a janitor at Wonder Comics, he anxiously awaits the day that his boss, D.C.  Wunderman, will notice his drawings and discover his artistic genius.  It seems like that day will never come until Wunderman invests in a shipment of magical pens, guaranteed to bring to life any character his artists create.  When the staff artists unwittingly unleash the dreaded Doctor Shock Clock, it is up to Stanley to create his own team of superheroes.  Will they have the superpowers to conquer this dastardly super-villain, who can stop time with the snap of his fingers?  Only time will tell!  Doctor Shock Clock is off to where else but Times Square to pull off the greatest heist of all time.  Watch as the egotistical Star Guy and his “Charisma Ray,” Triple Time with her super fast speed, environmentally correct Blossom with her magical sleeping potion flowers and the slightly grouchy but goodhearted Wombat Women combine their special powers to try to stop the dastardly deed!  You'll will cheer and laugh out loud when the superheroes battle Shock Clock and her henchmen, the Minutos, only to be saved in the end by the greatest superhero of them all — Eraser Man (a.k.a.  Stanley Leonardo Sappovitz!)

Sign-ups for AMC 10B/12B are OPEN to ALL STUDENTS! The deadline is Dec. 21, so please email tesoromath@gmail.com your name and grade level to sign-up. If you are reading this message late, email us anyway--we may have extra spots available.

The AMC 10B/12B will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 1pm in Room 208 (during 5th period).

Tesoro pays for the competition (and your certificate of recognition)--you don't have to pay any money.

For the fence-sitters…

The AMC is arguably the most prestigious math competition in the U.S.

An estimated 400,000 students worldwide take the AMC 8/10/12 every year. The AMC is the oldest American math competition still around, since 1950.

The AMC provides a better opportunity to demonstrate mathematical abilities than does standardized testing.

It can be argued that “Getting an 80-100 on the AMC 12 is a better statement of your math abilities than a 780-800 on [the] Math SAT.”

It never hurts to miss 5th period to take a free math contest. Sign-up by emailing tesoromath@gmail.com with your full name and grade.
