Mr. Cogan is a 13 year science teacher for Capistrano Unified School District who has taught Biology, Astronomy, Coordinated Science, Health, CECA (Computers and Career exploration), and chemistry. This year he is teaching Biology and Coordinated Science II. He is also an adjunct faculty member for National University with expertise in science, health, teaching methods, and brain based learning. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Biology from UC Irvine and Masters Degree in Public Health, Epidemiology from San Diego State University. Mr. Cogan is also a life coach with an ACG (ADD Coach Academy Graduate) certification, who specializes in coaching teens and adults with ADD challenges and individuals facing adversity following the loss of a limb or physical disability. He is a full right leg amputee of 30 years and successfully takes on life challenges with and without a prosthesis. His motto is if I can do it, you can do it. Steve is married and has a daughter in her 1st year of college, and when he is not teaching or coaching, he enjoys performing monthly as a singer/songwriter guitarist, snow skiing, cycling, swimming, kayaking, travelling, wood working, and exploring nature.
