What a month we are having so far in the Tesoro Instrumental Music Department! Here is a quick recap of one very successful week in March.
The Jazz Ensemble, Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Chamber Orchestra and String Ensemble all earned Unanimous Superior ratings at SCSBOA festivals. The Chamber Orchestra performed at the Segerstrom Concert Hall in Costa Mesa. The Drum Line won the First Place award at the Drums Across California Quarterfinals and finished as the highest scoring drum line in the entire competition. The Jazz Ensemble finished in Second Place in the Advanced Division at the Irvine Jazz Festival and we won the Best Trumpet Section award and Kenny Abbott won the Most Outstanding Soloist award.
Our students musicians have been working so hard with great dedication and consistent effort and now their hard work has paid off with these outstanding awards and wonderful performances. Congratulations to all for a job well done.
