LAST WEEK for Socks For Heroes
Tesoro has been challenged by San Clemente HS to a sock drive to benefit our Troops in Afghanistan.
This program is in honor of Tesoro Class of 2007 Graduate LCPL Donald Hogan, who was killed in 2009 while shielding his squad from a roadside bomb.
Our troops are only able to wash their socks every 3 days in local rivers - their #1 request for donations has been for socks.
Please consider donating a pack of black or brown, cotton crew socks to the donation bins in front of the main office, at the ASB Office, or at the ticket booths at our home football games on September 19 and 26.
The winning school will be announced at halftime at the Tesoro @ SCHS Football on Friday, October 2nd for Military Appreciation Night.
LEVEL DOWN/DROP DEADLINE
A friendly reminder to all students and parents that the level down/drop deadline occurs earlier this year at the end of the 4th week of school. The last day to level down or to drop a non-required class is Friday, October 3rd. 9th and 10th grade students MUST remain enrolled in 6 classes; 11th and 12th grade students MUST remain enrolled in 5 classes.
Students wishing to level down or drop should complete an Add/Drop form and return it to the Guidance Office no later than 3:00 pm on Friday, October 3rd. The form can be found on the main page of SchoolLoop.
2014 Fall Driver Education Registration
This online Driver Education course is equivalent to a regular 30-hour classroom course and has been examined and authorized by the Licensing Operations Division of the DMV. Please note that this is the classroom section, not the behind-the-wheel course. Students who successfully complete this course, which includes an online examination, will receive an official Certificate of Completion. This is required to obtain a learner’s permit for all drivers between the ages of 15 ½ and 18 years old.
Must have valid email address. Logon information will be emailed to student on October 17, 2014
Please click here for the application.
Parent Portal Info
Parents are encouraged to create a Parent Portal access account, which will allow them to update student information in the District’s database, review student attendance by period and see an unofficial transcript of their child’s progress.
Information regarding creating a Parent Portal account can be found at: https://abi.capousd.org/ or by going to the district’s main web site and finding the Parent Portal link under Parent Links. Instructions for creating an account can be found by clicking here or by following the information that is available on the district’s website under the Parent Portal link.
Please note that 3 pieces of information are required in order to create the account.
A letter containing this information will also be mailed to parents without portal accounts prior to registraton should a report card not be available. Assistance is also available from the front office once it reopens on August 14, 2014.
Students should also create a Student Portal account so that they have access to the same information and records as the Parent Portal. Students need their seven digit student ID number, an email address (must be different than their parents’), and the unique verification code that was used to create the Parent Portal account. Beginning next school year, Tesoro students will use their Student Portal account to complete the registration process and choose their classes. It will be essential for students to have a valid Student Portal account to properly register for courses in the future. Students will not have the ability to change the data that parents enter in the Parent Portal. Information regarding opening a Student Portal account is available at abi.capousd.org http://abi.capousd.org .
